Grocery shopping on a Dave Ramsey inspired zero-base budget can be tasty if it’s a budget grocery haul. This grocery haul for one is a monthly grocery haul on a budget. Made much easier by meal planning for one and grocery shopping on a budget. My secret to success is meal prep and budget grocery shopping.

What I eat in a day is coming up! If you have any questions leave them in the comments below.

Monthly Grocery Budget: $50.00
Stores: Whole Foods + Marianos
Camera: Sony a5100

this beautiful colorful basket I'm so excited about all these hello and welcome back to my channel my name is Stacy flowers and I am a student of Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University and on a journey to become a 100% debt-free my current debt is over one hundred and eighty three thousand dollars I am on baby step number two to repay 100 percent of my debts I earn an income of anywhere between 1,500 and 2,000 dollars on average a month working part-time and running my company quarter time in this video I'm going to be sharing with you my July 2018 grocery haul so if you are interested in that please keep watching let's take a look at what I have here in the cabinet I've been starting a little bit of work on organizing my pantry I got a gift card from Target and so I bought these although I don't think that they're going to be large enough and I think I'm just going to switch over to a hundred percent mason jars but I have a little bit of black beans I have a little bit of quinoa rice this is the last amount of my oats I have angel hair pasta that I purchased to make homemade ramen noodles I still have my banana rings that I just have not even from my last grocery haul and then I have a couple of broth and so let's talk about the broth really quick because a lot of you guys suggested bouillon cubes and when I first moved in I went I got beef and chicken yes beef and chicken bullion cubes and I put it in my red beans and I put it in my black beans and it was absolutely delicious however what happened was is I was out myself like every time I would eat like a bowl cuz you know I have it for like lunch and dinner so like I eat it a lot but every time I would eat it I would get overwhelmingly tired like even when I would eat it at work oh god why am I so tired why am I so tired enough let me look at my ingredients and when I looked at the bullion cubes there is soy but I can't remember how I don't know if it's a soy oil or soy bean I'm not 100% for sure but I just my body doesn't have a good reaction to soy so I can't use bullion cubes with soy in it and I haven't found young-kyu that doesn't have soy in it so if you guys have a recommendation I'm totally open to not using these to save money but I think people this is just something people will say oh you can get that cheaper at this place and you're right but you have to ask yourself why is it cheaper at other places it's not always just cheaper at other places because one store you know branding and marketing and it's organics sometimes it's cheaper because they're using lower quality products in addition to the thing so like for example like seasonings like sometimes when you're purchasing seasonings you're not just purchasing that seasoning you're purchasing that seasoning but they blend up other things that are tasteless but like provide the bulk so that would be my recommendation it's just I understand that there are a thousand ways to make my grocery shopping even less expensive than what it is at fifty dollars a month but me making some of those decisions winds up being the wrong decision for me because there are products that I don't want to consume and in me purchasing something cheaper I'm unintentionally consuming those products for example the bulan cubes where you can get like ten versions of this box of broch but in you getting those ten versions you're also getting the who humping of soy and if you don't eat soy you know that becomes a problem so I have chicken broth I have beef broth and then here I have some coconut bases and I'm a little bit of popcorn summarising corn mill rice flour a bread crumb with baking soda our seasonings I'm doing pretty good with seasonings have smoked paprika I have a little time ground cumin ground cinnamon pepper lemon pepper adobo this is I still have tons of that tumeric left bay leaves and a piece off from my auntie and then here in the cabinet sort of the same things the olive oil from May grapeseed oil and most of these things really aren't going down because I haven't really been cooking I haven't been cooking at home because it is really hot but also last month is my birthday month and I went out quite a lot so that's what having the cabinet let's take a look in the free refrigerator so in the refrigerator I have some celery but this is going to be turned into vegetable stock because it's just I left it in here too long these carrots may still be good so I may pull those and turn those into some snacks some sweet peppers which I'm super excited about did buy a little bit of kale I don't like the prepackaged kale I'm gonna finish eating it but I don't like the prepackaged kale I have a container of red beans a container of black beans little coconut milk that's leftover in a water pitcher not particularly satisfied with that water pitcher I'm so I likely will switch that out little bit of banana peppers have some red roasted peppers a little bit of almond milk and a little salad dressing and I'm running out of this is a little bit of frozen kale that's from that bag just because I knew I wasn't going to eat through it because I don't really like it very much but I don't want to waste it I don't know if you can freeze kale and maintain its nutrients but we shall see peas and a little bit of corn left so there are quite a few things that I will be getting from the grocery store today and yeah so there are quite a few things that will I'll be getting from the grocery store and I will also be getting some like mason jars to store things because I really want to switch over to not using as much plastic since I'm in my own home so let's go to the grocery store so I had all the plans and all the plans were to go to three different stores and then out of nowhere I don't even know if you guys can hear me but out of nowhere this brain came out of no way what I took my Mecca and I've been in the car now [Applause] these are a little darker one of the things that I am trying to figure out is how to cut all soy ouch I don't know if you guys can see that but the second ingredient second or first ingredient for most of all these male is soybean oil and I don't respond very well to soy so I'm gonna try this is the only one that I've found that doesn't have soy oil listed as an ingredient so I'll let you guys know this brand may actually be better I found another one that doesn't have soy in it from him but this has eggs in it and I prefer to not have eggs they make me a little sluggish but this one here is specifically says no GMO and egg free so I actually think we're going to go with this Mayo I'm kind of stoked about that a little closer and right here I don't know if you guys can see that it says it may contain soy and I'm thinking that that is because of where it's manufactured you know how like sometimes things are manufactured near each other which for me may contain soy is way better than soybean oil being the first ingredient so I'm gonna go ahead and try this and this speed the booty some wholefoods chickpeas red pepper flakes red beans popcorn oats and black bean I'm at the last store and I have my little bag with my cash envelopes out these are my original cash envelopes from Dave Ramsey and I'm at the third store today and I have you can see that in there I have 25 dollars left to get me some vegetables which primarily decorates my bases of oatmeal and beans every single day and quinoa this budget is $50 but I do think that I'm gonna increase my grocery budget to 75 right now I'm just in the habit of shopping at 50 and until I get a little bit more comfortable with my kitchen I don't want to waste so you guys saw when I was looking through my kitchen that and I mean technically it won't go to waste but I have carrots i have celery and a couple of peppers that went bad and I don't like that so I don't want that to happen and for that reason the other 25 if I do use it in this budget I'll just use it later on in the month if it comes up but if it doesn't then you know fifty dollars it is so let's go see beautiful color Pro basket I'm so excited about all these green I'm a pineapple and peaches so you guys can see that on the ground there this is what I got for my fifty dollar grocery haul with the exception of the mason jars because those were part of my household pantry that I got um because she's very hot all those stairs I got those so that I could make my to go salads but also so that could fill out my pantry so I'm kind of super pumped about that it is much much later in the day you can't really tell because it's been raining and whatnot but it's super hot so I am going to first watch them sorry guys I'm going to who first I feel like my my face is falling off me okay I'm gonna first wash my mason jars just a little I can as I'm preparing food I literally have a place to be able to put the food in and then I'm gonna show you guys what I got so this is July's summers grocery calls and I'll start down here I got my thing of almond milk got a very large container of strawberries this and this came from Walmart as well as this celery came from Walmart and it's funny that I have so much celery I'm not really a celery fan but it seasons things well and I'm making a lot of like cold salads like cauliflower salad and pasta salad and stuff like that and it seasons it really well I got a 1 bunch of spinach have a head of romaine lettuce I got two things of golden beets so this has two on it this has three on it got a pineapple I've got three stalks of our three heads of corn on the cob yellow pepper orange pepper red pepper green pepper these red pepper flakes are from Whole Foods I have three yellow onions because I'm still eating onion rings but also seasoning two peaches a head of cauliflower some rotini noodles tricolor for my pasta salad mustard garlic and this just Mayo and again this is gonna be for my pasta salad as well as for my cauliflower salad and then from Whole Foods I got red beans black beans red pepper flakes popcorn oatmeal and a little bit of gum bark the chickpea so now it's time to put all these dishes so what I'm doing in this jar is I'm just taking this celery that has died I'm washing it and I and I'm just chopping it up a little bit and I'm putting it in here because I'm going to and I wish I would have got to it just a little sooner but what I'm gonna do is when I get ready to make my vegetable broth I'm gonna use these veggie scraps in the vegetable broth so I put everything away we'll bring a couple of strawberries my pineapple will sit here a peaches here my corn on the cob here we look in the fridge you have my almond milk down here but this is what the fridge looks like the kale snacks are there this here is spinach it's just strawberry and then that's lettuce back there etc etc and then we go to the freezer oh there was something I forgot to show you guys I had sweet potatoes down here I keep forgetting that I have sweet potatoes down there so just so you know have sweet potatoes then we have what the pantry looks like here for the most part everything up here is the same I just move things up that's the red beans that I got from Whole Foods and this behind here leftover black beans and some new my onions are here this is a little piece of garlic old popcorn etc so this is where we are right yeah amazing super fantastic spectacular people that is my July 2018 these are so sweet grocery haul it was a very difficult one to film but I'm glad I did it I'm glad I've been able to find my mason jars so that is all that I have for you to them thank you so much for watching until next time I watch you all this

my channel my name is Stacy flowers and I am a student of Dave's Ramsey's Financial Peace University in on a journeys have become a hundred percent debt-free my starting debt is two hundred and eight thousand four hundred and fifty three dollars and twenty seven cents I currently work part time earning anywhere between eight hundred and one thousand dollars and I am on baby step number one to save five hundred dollars in today's video I'm going to be going over a detailed a budget check in for my February 2018 budget so if you are interested in that please keep watching so the first thing that I want to do is pull up a calculator so that we can have that for our numbers and then I want to talk a little bit about the things that have impacted my budget so far so the number one thing that's having the biggest impact on my budget is income and so I started a journal entry page here and I just want to jot down my income to date so as mentioned in the original budget video my first paycheck plus some money that I'm counting as income was six hundred and eighty nine dollars and let's get that change I believe 86 cents yes in 86 cents on the 7th of February I also received a payment from my youtube channel for three hundred and twenty seven dollars and twenty one cents and then on the 8th of February I also received a generous donation of $100 and I received that donation from DME brown on YouTube and I just wanted to publicly thank you for that very generous donation his or her comment was hi Stacy I enjoy your budgeting videos very much can you list your PayPal me link in the description below your video for anyone who would like to contribute to your financial freedom journey you're such a positive attitude to your current financial situation I would like to help with the small boost and I just want to say thank you thank you thank you I appreciate that I appreciate you supporting my work I appreciate you watching my videos I appreciate you commenting and then also to the community that helped me to earn three hundred and twenty seven dollars and 21 cents it was all of you all collectively that made that happen so I deeply deeply appreciate that because it certainly has helped because I am on the 15th of this month and my turtle earnings so far for February six eighty nine point eighty six plus three twenty seven point twenty one plus one hundred is 111 one thousand sees me one hundred one thousand one hundred and seventeen dollars and seven cents so that is the amount of income that I am working with so far and we still have fifteen days left in this month so I'm super excited about where the month of February is going so now what I want to do is go down my budget and show you exactly what I've paid so far and where these dollars and cents have been going based on my original budget that I did at the beginning of the month and I will link that video so you can see my tides were eighty dollars based on my take-home pay for my part-time job this number will increase because I would like I am going to pay tithes off of the three 2721 earnings and when I paid tithes off that that will be an additional $32 but neither of these payments have come out yet because of the place where I allocated my tide payment the big expense that has come out for the month of February so far has been the five hundred and twenty five dollars for my rent I've also paid the thirty five dollars and 82 cents for my phone bill and I paid the hundred dollars towards my CTA Pass I have also paid the my groceries which I had a budget of $35 and I want to see how much I actually spent for my food budget and the pages that you see me flipping through those are my allocated spending pages but the reason why I'm looking at my cash flow is because it has a budgeted amount and a spent amount and I wanted to write it on this page so 3511 I've spent of my grocery budget which means I'm 11 cents over my grocery budget but still doing pretty good I'm pretty I'm pretty proud of that number based on my original cash flow plan I've paid my rent I paid my cell phone bill I paid transportation and I paid a little bit of groceries and so now I want to get into where I anticipate spending the 320 or how I plan on spending the 327 that I've earned from google adsense and the hundred dollar donation so if you're looking at my allocated spending page you can see that in my next pay period that's when I intend to pay my tithes and I just in this third category I created a category for the payment of 327 21 and so what I have coming out initially is the thirty two dollars and seventy cents and the missed payment here there's not a line for taxes but I wanted to make sure that I paid my taxes on the income that I have coming in because I will be taxed and taxes are currently passed new taxes are currently in my debt snowball so I don't want to fall behind and my 2018 taxes Oh after I take out my tithe and after I take out my 30% tax what I have left over to spend is one hundred and ninety six dollars and fourteen cents and today I'm actually going to make that payment onto my rent because if you remember in my previous budget video I learned that I am NOT current on my rent I'm actually always paying my rent during the month that I'm renting and that is the concept of being current and I want to be current so one of my primary goals was to do that and with this extra 196 14 plus the money that I anticipate putting when I get paid tomorrow on to my rant I will be much closer to my goal so let's see actually a little number so 525 minus 225 minus 196 14 that would mean that I'm a hundred dollars and 686 cents away from my total rent payment and I'm very excited about that because that I mean that really just allows me to be able to get in front of and as comment or survivor fan 30 to get out of the red so I anticipate putting the entire 196 14 towards my rent payment the hundred dollars generous donation that I received from the M Brown the way that that is allocated is I don't have anything for that hundred dollars coming out and my knee-jerk reaction was to just put that hundred dollars towards my rent and then I would only be six dollars and 86 cents over but the reality of my situation was that so that money was automatically paid through my paypal account and what I didn't know is that I had expenses coming through my PayPal account because again I'm trying to one I'm trying to have all my expenses come from one place so I'm very clear on how much money is going out but two I just didn't realize the expenses that I have so almost as soon as that money hit my PayPal account payments were going out that I was just not expecting so I'm gonna clear that up this month and that's another reason why I'm doing the budget check-in because I really now won't be overwhelmed at the end of the month trying to shift payments around to a card and blah blah blah I'll be able to put it exactly where it is so what actually came out of the hundred dollars that I received as a donation so far is fifteen dollars automatically was withdrawn for my paypal bill and I'm just going to check to see if I didn't know that I was on automatic debit there because I always call in to make the payment but maybe it's automatic maybe it's set up automatic debit if I have a balance in my PayPal account I don't know but I'm gonna follow up with that my podcasting fee was something that I forgot to consider in my earnest to get out of the red in February when I was talking about my budget so that fifteen dollars definitely came out and it's interesting because survivor fan 32 was watching the video and she was the one who pointed out that I forgot that particular payment and then two other expenses that really blew me away were and and well one didn't blow me away because survivor fan pointed it out she pointed out that I forgot to include my son's podcasting are not podcasting my son's iTunes subscription so that 1096 came out but I noticed that another 1096 came out and I was like livid because I'm like I don't if I didn't have this money what were you guys gonna do and the truth of the matter is is I realize is that when the money is not in my PayPal account these items just get declined and I think in I think I was mistaken these subscriptions for being off because the payments just weren't going through so I definitely thought that there was only one subscription for the iTunes but clearly there was too so I am I tried to dispute this charge but if I couldn't Apple was like not having it and they were like we can do this for next month so I was like all right fine so next month that will be taken off so unfortunately of the hundred are fortunately because I'm grateful but of the hundred dollars that was donated 15 – 15 – 10 69 oops $100 – 15 – 15 – ten point sixty nine – ten point 69 there's 48 dollars and sixty two cents leftover of which I'm going to put towards my rent and and it so yeah so that's that's where the budget is right now so that 48 60 – I'm going to put towards my rent leaving my overall leftover rent that I need to cover as 57 dollars and 38 cents so I wanted to do a budget check-in because I want you guys to be able to sooner see the difference between what I'm planning and how things are actually happening but I also want you guys to be able to see how I'm able to reconcile things and when I say reconcile I mean that like I'm still struggling a little bit with forgetting things that are coming out and my earnest to get things right I'm still of the mind that certain subscriptions are cut off when they are clearly active and so just different things like that but it is definitely getting better and it is getting better with your help in this community both monetarily because the Umbra was very generous but also just from a community perspective of commenting and watching and so I just want to say I deeply appreciate your support I am well on my way I am less than 50 dollars away from getting out of the red and I am super excited and super just humbled by the support and I'm just I'm just so grateful that you guys are supporting this journey and I hope that while you are watching this that you are beginning to transform your financial blueprint so that when it comes that time it'll be more than just one of us screaming I'm debt free so yeah that is it my midweek check-in if you have any questions please ask them down below I will do my budget report card on about February 27th February 28th and that's where you will get all the final numbers to see exactly where every dime went so thank you so much for watching I look forward to talking to you very soon [Applause]

hey guys welcome back to my channel today we are going to be planning out our budget for the third paycheck of July so in front of me I've got my Erin Condren deluxe monthly planner I've currently got it combined with my life planner but I think I'm gonna separate things out again which I'll be explaining all that here pretty soon probably in my next plan with me that you guys will see on Monday I'll kind of explain that a little bit more but I've got these two pages here so I'm going to set up our paycheck three budget over here and then our spending tracker over here very similar to how I've got it set up over here but obviously different cuz we're working with different numbers this week and this week in particular is a big week because I get my full time job paycheck I also get my paycheck from everything that I do for YouTube so we've got more going on this week for sure but let's go ahead and get started so I've got a whole bunch of stickers over here from planner Kate I've got some boxes which I'm not really sure actually what I'm gonna do with those but that's okay and then I've got some washi I've got some extra of the like basic boxes and labels I've got some stickers from Sarah Marie stickers I love her paycheck 3 and paycheck for sticker or well all her little paycheck stickers I've got a bunch of them and then I've got some thin washy I think I might use one of these little check marks and then I also have these like itty bitty piggy banks from planner Kate which is I 922 so we're gonna start out by putting down our washi at the top and I've just been kind of lining it up with the bottom of the hexagon I'll do that first and then I'll put paycheck 3 at the top I love Sarah's scrip stickers she's got a whole bunch of them and they were fantastic and I think her quality of stickers is right on par with with planner Kate stickers on like she did she's been doing a phenomenal job okay and then I'll go ahead and put some washi on this side as well and I think I'm gonna do this like flag looking one I have to cut it moves up over a little bit okay good my slicing tool I love being able to get a bunch of add-ons from Kate's like monthly kit which is part of the reason I've decided to use her stickers for my budgeting is I'm kind of a matchy-matchy person and I love that I can just get like a bunch of these little like add-ons and stuff and like washing sheets and kind of use my monthly kit along with all of her budgeting stickers and have everything like match I just really have been loving that so I'll do my spending tracker sticker right here okay and then I'll put my washi strip down for the spending tracker alright that takes care of that so I also need my income like budgets for stickers one second couldn't find them at first and I started panicking okay so we're gonna put down one of these little boxes and we'll use it to track our income and income is gonna include all of our paychecks our roll over all that stuff is included so so for our income we are expecting to have a total of let's see three thousand forty dollars and 25 cents and again that is not like a paycheck amount that is that is like money from YouTube my full time paycheck roll over all that stuff combined and this did not shut very well it's kind of skipping a little bit for some reason okay and then we will list out our bills so I think of bills as anything with a due date and the really nice part about putting in these bill do stickers into the monthly view is I can look at okay we're looking at you know the week of the 19th through the 25th so I can very very easily see that we've got one two three four bills that we're gonna be paying for this week right and see Great Lakes banner t-mobile HOA oh and I forgot to put ApS down here so we'll do a ps2 I need to make sure to put a bill do you sticker in there so we've got five bills that we're gonna be paying for out of paycheck three or week three so let's see here's one of these bills scrip stickers and I feel like this is a little bit crooked okay it's a little bit better I think nope still crooked this kind of stuff drives me nuts so I apologize but I have to fix it okay all right so the bills that we are going to be paying for and maybe I'll use a thing about using these little asterisks but maybe I won't that I think that's gonna look too crowded so I'll just list amount under here so we've got great leaks maybe I'll just do a little faster cut my own we've got banner life and then we have t-mobile and our HOA dues and then we've got ApS so again I think of bills as anything with a due date for Great Lakes we've got two 57:24 banner life is going to be twenty to twenty-two t-mobile is 120 HOA is 104 and ApS is going to be 170 for 52 okay and then we're gonna put our expenses down I've gotten a lot of inspiration for the look of this from Cindy Lila Troost um she's a fellow youtuber on here and I love her style it's very very like simple which I like I've been trying to go for like a very clean look when it comes to this particular page of my budget and I really like what she what she's been doing so I think I'm gonna try to do something similar okay so expenses expenses are like anything that I consider to be living expenses so we've got some cash that we're taking out so we got food which I'm going to put a little C next to because I know it's cash we have hair nails again put a little C next to that and we've got household we have our miscellaneous cash then I've got Maddy's Commission money we'll see and then we've got our grocery pick up pick up which is debit and our gasoline for our vehicles which is also debit and for food we're gonna do for 400 what am I thinking no no no 300 and again we're gonna try to spend as little of that as possible and see if we can throw that into savings which would be really nice so household it's gonna be 40 miscellaneous is 20 as you can see I didn't put my pocket money in here cuz if you watch my video from yesterday I have spent all my pocket money so I tried to not do that but you know just sort of happened and then we've got from for grocery pick up we have 87 25 remaining so we'll put 87 25 for the last half of July and then gasoline will be 150 and that should get us through until the first paycheck of August so there is that and then the last thing that we're gonna track is going to be our roll over and for that I'm gonna use one of these little piggy banks cuz they're super super cute and trust me I wish there was a rollover script sticker because I'm honestly not a huge fan of my writing but I'll do a little piggy and then I'll put roll over and our expected roll over we will get by subtracting all this from our total income for this week okay so the total that we will be rolling over into the next week is going to be one thousand six hundred ninety five dollars and two cents so one thousand six hundred ninety five dollars and two cents and that will go towards paying some of the pay check for bills and then obviously at the end of paycheck for like week four we will be able to figure out exactly what's going into savings and all that kind of stuff depending on like what's in our account and everything so now I'm just gonna put a little thin washy at the bottom just for some decoration and that is paycheck three so what I plan to do is I'm going to put the actual amount next to each one if honestly if I need to like these amounts really do not vary at all like the only things that should bury it probably is like these just in case we like go over or under or something like that but I want to do what Cindy does too and put a little check mark up here because then as we go through the week we can like check off you know one something's been paid and when I take the cash out and everything like that and I can tell you already that I actually didn't take the cash out for these and see what I plan to do is do like 300 and then 60 and 40 and 20 and 10 I took out all the cash today so I could fill my cash envelope video for you guys so that's what I'm planning to do I'm not gonna label this like budget actual and everything like that I'm just going to put like if I go over I'll put this in red and then if I am under maybe I'll use like a green pen or something like that if I'm under so I think that'll look nice and clean that's really what I'm going for here so but I think that's it for paycheck threes budget and I'm gonna have a little bit of a different layout for August I'm what I'm planning to do is to create like a second weekly check-in page for cash envelopes only so I'm gonna have kind of like a weekly Wesley a weekly check-in page for like debit items and then sort of the same exact thing for cash envelopes and I'm gonna just love all my spending truckers like together versus having them right next to each paycheck and I think that will work out really well so I'm planning to kind of switch things up a little bit moving forward but yeah guys I think that is it for this video so I hope you enjoyed it if you did please give it a thumbs up be sure to subscribe to catch all my future videos if you have any questions comments at all let me know down below and then as always I've got everything linked in the description box for the planner that I use the stickers I use all that is hey guys welcome back to my channel today we are here to check in for the second week of July I always always always forget what week it is for some reason so in front of me I've got my Erin Condren deluxe monthly planner slash life planner I did combine the two books that might be changing in the very near future a couple things may be changing so just stay tuned for that I will explain more pretty soon but for those of you that are in the planner cake group on Facebook some of you know already what is gonna be changing but anyways so let's go ahead and get started I'm going to open up to our budget and I will assume you guys in okay so we are looking at the week of the 12th through the 18th and we've had a couple things happen that I did forget to put on here so one of those is we went or I went to Duncan today to get a cold brew and that was for 336 so I want to be sure to add that on there my husband went to Duncan yesterday and they were out of cold brew and they used like a dark roast it was not good so I didn't get my fix from that the other thing is that State Farm did come out and that was for 3870 so that was paid and then Wells Fargo hasn't come out yet but I know it's going to and I know it's the exact amount of what it is so that's totally fine so let's see here we will start out by just checking in here and seeing where we're at I'm gonna find one of my friction friction pens these are the erasable pens that I've been using I do have them linked down below I love them there some so let's take a look here so we are going to look at grocery pickup as well as gasoline for our vehicles and the Dunkin app pretty much anything that is considered like a debit type of expense is trapped here and the Dunkin app I like to track just mainly like I can go to the app at any point in time and see how much I have left but I like to track it here because it helps me notice like trends or if I'm overspending I'm able to quickly see at a glance like if there's too much pink going on like there has been for this past week so okay so the first thing we're looking at is grocery pickup and I know we went this past Saturday and it was for 88 82 so 88 82 and last week we had 170 607 remaining which leaves us with 87 25 for the remainder of July so we're gonna have to keep it up 50 dollars or less for the remainder of July so we have two more weeks to get through and this is why I love this page so much because I can see sort of what the rest of the monk what the rest of the month needs to look like as far as like our spending and stuff is concerned to stay on track so for cash I know we had one transaction we filled up the journey now it's 450 75 5075 and last week we had 205 at 63 remaining so that leaves us with 154 88 which is basically like three Phillips for our cars so that should be good we should be fine on gas for the rest of the month Duncan we had quite a few transactions so let's see so 905 that was my daughter and I was like usual stop on our way to grocery picked up we pretty much always stop at Duncan and we get like munchkins she gets an extra doughnut and then I do my cold brew I've been picking up coffees from my husband as well so I'm considering increasing Duncan just a little bit just so that I can treat him more because he likes those as well and then the 1194 I went shopping with my friend Kelsey and we stopped and got drinks and don't hats on the way there so we got those two tracked and then 873 I had my husband run out and get coffee but again it was like this dark gross like iced coffee to me tastes totally different than cold brew and I'm much much prefer cold brew I don't know if that's just me or what but and I don't like I'm not a super like coffee like I don't know anything about coffee there's people that will be like you know they know like different coffee beans and things like that like what like different brewing process seeds or processes or whatever how that affects your coffee I am NOT one of those people I am not with it there but so yeah we spent a lot on Duncan this past week 3308 and I did put more on the card for us in the month so you guys will see that too but let's see it was a we had 2120 it was 21 20 – 30 308 so we were at a negative 11 88 so not good not good for Duncan and did I do my math correctly they're like yeah let me just double-check this real quick 9 5 plus 3 36 plus 873 Plus 1194 yeah 3308 so yeah I'm not good not good but I did put some extra on there like I said just to kind of make up for that difference and I also so normally I put the $25.00 on on the first of the month I did it early to get certain the rest of the the rest of the month so that transactions actually actually already taken place and I might as well just go ahead and put that in here cuz it was I did $40 so that looks really bold but ok and then unbudgeted let's see this is gonna bother me so maybe I will use a different pen because I think this is just a little too too much not to erase very well oh now my pen won't write on top of it okay I might just need to use a different sticker I'll take care of that later so I'm budgeted we did have one transaction and that was for the 80 146 this was for some ups drama that went down and I've talked about it briefly in other videos but essentially I sold a couple things and shift them out to people and they paid me for for them and then ups just totally lost the packages so I basically gave the money back to those individuals it's unbudgeted because the money that I had brought in from selling those items I already used so it had already like left our account so that 81 46 is considered an unbudgeted item which really stinks but and what stinks more is that UPS is just like not even taking any responsibility whatsoever for it they just keep insisting like we would never do that basically what happened is my husband took three boxes two EPs two of the boxes have labels on them clearly stating that they were going to a residence they were just totally separate and then he in the third box there was a bunch of items being sent to Amazon for returns so ups scanned the Amazon returns and instead of just putting the labels like in the Amazon box and shifting that one box Amazon they slapped Amazon return labels on all three boxes even though two of the boxes clearly had labels on them that said that they were going elsewhere they are insisting that they would never do that but it is the only thing that I can think of that they would have done that would have like caused all this like ruckus and my husband did say they were like rushing him out of there they were super busy so yeah and the tracking numbers that I was given for the other two packages that were going to someone's house the tracking numbers said they were going to Las Vegas where the Amazon returns like hub is so I'm like clearly you guys did slap the Amazon return labels on these packages but again they are like just refusing to do anything about it so I think they should at least like we like they should give us like money back or something I don't know but they just kept telling us to wait wait wait and this was on the 19th of June and the two people I sent those packages to still have not received anything so I just sent them their money back and apologized profusely because I just I've never had that happen and I will never go to UPS again ever I will not go there ever again our post office is pretty great thankfully I know that's not the case for some people their post office isn't very good but ours is is good so so I'll probably just go there from now on if I send anything else like that in the mail so okay so that takes care of our weekly check-in here and gives us a good idea of where we're at currently with everything so make sure I checked everything oh and I did so the next thing we'll do is we will take a look at our sinking funds nothing has happened there we haven't spent any of our sinking funds and this is why I love having our sinking funds in cash because I know if this money was in like our account I would feel like I don't know I it's like a mental thing for me if I see a big sum of money in our checking account it's more tempting to me to spend that on things and like make up for it later type a deal but that just like snowballs and creates like a really stressful situation so using the cash and putting it and like our little sinking funds like Filofax when we have envelopes for each sinking fund it seriously helps because it's out of sight out of mind it's in our safe it stowed away and as you can see like we haven't done anything with our sinking funds that cash has just been sitting there as it should be because we haven't needed it and I know like I would say for example family fun oh why don't we just go do this and you know we'll just go in the negative and then I'll make up for it next month whatever like that just gets us into trouble so yeah it's been working really well for us and then if we open up to paycheck – I did have a couple transactions here that I forgot to highlight but I did track so we had that and then we also had I don't remember which blue I used maybe it was this blue yeah so there's that so now we're just gonna check our cash envelopes and I have a different way of how I'm gonna be Chuck like tracking this in the future and you guys will see that pretty soon for August but for now we'll do it the way that I've got it laid out so here's my paycheck to budget and what we're gonna do is we are going to go through and put in everything that's come out so Centrelink to come out apple music came out State Farm came out I'm gonna put Wells Fargo even though it hasn't come out of our account I did check and they did process the payment for this amount it just hasn't reflected in our account yet so I'm just gonna put that and then we did set aside the 590 84 for mortgage so that was exactly as expected our sinking funds were as expected and then for unbudgeted we have that 80 1:46 81 46 so let's see so 495 + 81 46 so our actual spending was 576 46 and we were over by 81 46 and then this would just be the 81 46 so as far as our roll over it's concerned 350 27 minus 81 46 we're actually rolling over to 68 81 and that was the 81 46 less than what we expected so that's kind of how that is going to be working moving forward I don't know if I'm going to do the tables again I do really wish someone had mentioned that if planner Kate sold like budget and actual stickers and rolled over stickers and saving stickers like I should pick them up she does not sell those currently but I really wish she did because that would be really nice so as far as our cash envelopes are concerned so the the problem that I've been running into is like remembering where I left off with our cash envelopes so again I've got like a plan to kind of remedy that moving forward but what we're gonna do is we are going to yeah see I don't even remember so let's see what's the best way to do this so this is everything that has come out I might just have to like refer to this which kind of stinks but I think that's what we're gonna have to do so I'm just gonna calculate this real quick so we'll do 300 what's the amount that we budgeted for food so I'm going to take 300 and subtract all of the blues and I'll go ahead and highlight the blue here just so it's easier to spot and then I'll let you guys know we should have zero because there's nothing left yeah so here you go as you can see we have 10 cents remaining in food and sure enough in our little wallet here there is nothing in the food envelope I am gonna be stuffing our envelopes this week so you guys will see that video in a couple days so we're about to replenish everything which is good but we should actually be good on food my husband and I were literally just talking about it and we still have quite a bit of food in our freezers and fridge so I think we're gonna really try to refrain from using our food money as much as possible and see if we can put that towards savings this month that would be really cool so okay so the next thing I'm going to look at is let's see we got miscellaneous and miscellaneous I haven't I'll do yellow for miscellaneous and that and then pocket money isn't pink pocket money yeah household was green and then I'll do purple for Maddy and hair nails I will do this like red color okay just do some color coding real quick so let's go ahead and do the household neck so we spent 217 last week and then we spent 27 20 the suik for a total of 29 37 and we budgeted 40 so we should have 1063 left and let's check our on the loop and sure enough we have ten dollars in there perfect all right cool so that takes care of that and then we'll do the pocket money next now I know I used money in our checking account to get a new Bible so I have no pocket money left for the rest of month like I won't be putting any pocket money into my envelope this week let's see so 3005 Plus 459 owned this was last week this week I did a Bible study program and $5 at Trader Joe's so it was 78 94 so technically I have like a dollar and six cents left because I give myself a tea for them like whole month I took out 40 last week and then I was supposed to take out another 40 this week I just I'm not gonna take out any cash my pocket money is officially gone which stinks I normally don't like to do that but I wanted to just really get started on this Bible study program so okay so pocket money is empty and then miscellaneous I gave us $20 for the first half of July and as you can see just with some simple math we spent twenty eighty four I don't even need to calculate that so there should be nothing in the miscellaneous envelope and there is not so that one's good Heron nails I did sixty ended up being even sixty I did a pedicure for both my daughter and I plus tip so and I actually I'm gonna be putting hair and nails like I'm combining pair of nails and beauty moving forward so any hair nails money I take out it's actually just gonna go into our Beauty sinking fund I feel like that's easier to do rather than have a separate envelope here so but that one is gone and then Maddie she made two dollars in commissions so she should have eight dollars remaining here one two three four five six seven we're short a dollar that's really no big deal I'm sure maybe maybe she did something with my husband and earned a dollar so we're short a dollar but there should be eight in there and there's only seven so we'll figure that out but that is the cash envelopes they are looking really good and then like I said we're gonna be filling them back up for the last half of July you guys will see that video on Saturday tomorrow you'll see our paycheck 3 budget so you'll see you know what we've got planned for this upcoming week I'm really excited about July it's turning out to be a really good month for us despite some you know unbudgeted expenses and things I feel like we're still really on track and doing well so I'm pretty happy about that but that is it for this week's check-in if you guys enjoyed this video please give it a thumbs up be sure to subscribe to catch all my future videos and if you have any questions or
