my forehead it's like so iced americano for days hey guys it's Matthew so for today's video I'm going to be talking about how to save your money and how to budget your money this is something that I really have been working on because I have work now and I also the student so like saving money is something that is really important as like an adult and it's something that I really need to work on so these are just some tips and things that have really helped me with saving my money this is also the first video in my minimalism series but be on the lookout for more minimalism videos come in too so with that let's just get into the video first is create a savings account so I did not ever have a savings account until I started working so allocate a certain amount of money and just put it into the savings account and don't allow yourself to spend any of it my bank Bank of America they have one where if it goes under three hundred dollars per month I think or per day something like that if it goes under three hundred dollars then they start taking five dollars every month so you actually lose money so it kind of like forces you to really save so I recommend something like that if you have a bank that offers up so create a savings account or if you are either like not old enough I like you just can't do that put it in like a space where you won't touch it like put it in like a piggy bank something like that where you just will say that next is to prioritize your spending so like sit down and spend like fifteen minutes making a list of things that bring you happiness you like traveling more than like getting brunch with your best friend or do you like going on shopping sprees like I mean if you like going on a shopping spree more than hanging with your buds like that's totally fine like you do you know judgment here at a list of things that make you happiest and bring you the most joy and then based on those priorities you're going to have a basis to know where to save your money and when to spend it when buying an item ask yourself if this is something that will bring you happiness or if it is something you really need so based on those two questions you're going to want to think about it and maybe not buy it in that moment maybe wait a day or two and really think about it and really think if you're like really neat it goes for online shopping to pull all of your items in the shopping cart and then wait a night or two before you actually purchase all of them go through and really make sure that you either need the item or it's something that will make you really happy or improve your life in some way next is to create a monthly budget so look at how much income you're receiving and then how much you're spending and then think of okay I want to save $100 per month and I'm making 200 dollars every month so I won't spend over a hundred so I can save 100 something like that you're going to want to do a little bit of math here I know that's not my favorite either let's say you're making around $400 every month from work and you want to save for a trip somewhere you want to save like twenty dollars so you're going to take $200 and then divide that by how many days are in your month so then based on that stick to that amount and just save X amount of dollars for each day and then you'll be able to have enough to go on the trip or spend money on jewelry or whatever it is you want it to do there are so many great apps out there I use this app Wally um I don't know if you can see it I use an app called Wally there was a youtuber I think her name is Natasha or the sauce something like that I'll link her down below but she talks about this app and like full detail it's like a budget tracker you can also take pictures of your receipts it's just so awesome I'm not sponsored at all I just really like this app it's free so thumbs up for free stuff but it's a really good app I just started using it because she's recommended it and I really have been enjoying it so I really recommend that you use this app and an extra little tip that's kind of like a reminder for you is if you're really bad at like spending your money and what I did which kind of helps is take a little sticky note or a piece of paper and then write like what it is you're saving for and just like stick that either in your wallet or cell or bill or something so every time you without your money you're going to be reminded of you know what it is you're saving for so that's just like a little tip and then the last one is to actually donate your money to to a Charities of your choice you could donate to a church you could donate to a synagogue like temple wherever you go you're like priest I don't know whatever it is you believe in or like charities to like the dog shelter a library I don't know just whatever you can donate to at least two charities any amount of lending is totally fine and the reason why I'm telling you this is because the good energy that you're putting out and the good vibe you're putting out with like related to money is going to come back to you so um that's why I'm saying you should donate to two charities of your choice and then you will receive that back in some other way the universe works on a give and receive so I highly recommend donating to at least two charities of your choice so that is it for today's video I hope you guys enjoyed don't forget to follow me on Instagram all my social media is below I have a ton of in the description box just go check that out but yeah so thanks for watching if you haven't already hit subscribe and that little bell so you get like little notifications from the upload so um yeah I think that's it for this video thank you guys for watching bye
