personal needs and budget if you're interested in having your own personal Disney Vacation Planner I'd love to chat with you my services are always free a little disclaimer here before we get started one the prices are in u.s. dollars Rory my fellow Canadian friends with the fluctuating dollar it's difficult to keep the rates updated to this budget worksheet is only a helpful planning tool so that you have a realistic budget in mind and in no way an official travel quote please contact your friendly Disney travel planner for an official quote if you have any questions please don't hesitate contact me I have included my contact information in the video notes below now let's get started on this main page you'll see a breakdown of all of the costs at the bottom you can see the different sections which you can click through budget which is the page that were on resorts porches a list of resort choices daily rate which shows you the daily rate for each Resort Hotel you can see the dates this about down the side and the hotels is that all along the top dining which shows you the daily rate for dining tickets and that shows you the average daily rate for per ticket choice and you see that the ticket price goes down the longer your stay and then we have parking which gives you the daily hotel rate for parking if you choose to drive or rent a car okay so let's go back to the main page and I'll show you how to fill the worksheet up I usually start by entering the total budget amount that you would like to work with and then we can pop down and start entering in your expenses your expenses start here on line 14 in the sample budget I based it on to adults for a seven-night stay so in line 14 you can see here it's a drop-down menu and you can choose your resort of choice here I put these guys at Disney pop century resort now let's figure out your average price per night so if you click over to the daily rate tab and choose your dates let's say you want to travel me first checking out May 8 and staying at pop century show us the resorts along the top here pop century is my first column so I go down to May first and then you can actually just highlight from May 1st to May 7th because it's her night stay and you'll see at the bottom here it gives us an average daily rate it shows the number of nights and then we can pop back over to our budget worksheet and enter in our sending lights and the cost per night was 1 1 571 and then it's going to give us our total amount here next we enter in our resort tax there's only any one resort tax and over here you'll see my note it says 13.5% at all star resorts otherwise it's 12.5% so the tax on Disney sports entry it's roughly 5% which gave us one point four eight seven next we're moving on to park tickets and this is also a drop down menu so you can select what type of cook tickets you want these ones are going to be set to one park per day then you go over to your ticket tab and you're gonna have to do a little bit of math here for this one we are doing one park per day for seven days and you'll see that the 7-day price is sixty two dollars and you multiply that by two people which gives us one hundred twenty four dollars and we hop back over to our budget and we go here and we're doing seven days 124 dollars and it gives us our total amount moving along and we do a similar thing for the Dining Plan there's a jump down menu can choose which dining plan you want and we pop over to the dining table and figure out how much it's gonna cost for dining so a little bit of math here as well and we have our sample here says a Disney quick-service Dining Plan which is fifty to fifty per adult per day so when you multiply that by two and it's giving us 105 dollars per day we just pop it in our seven days hundred five dollars and it'll give us our total amount and then you will see some other options under the expenses tab the memory maker this one is 169 if you buy it before your trip it is 199 park then you have your options for travel if you're flying driving parking car rentals so this is your whole transportation section we fill in the information just as we did above and then you have additional lines to put in your budget for your souvenirs and gifts for your purchase food and drinks there's also a column for special event tickets like Mickey's not-so-scary Halloween party Mickey's very Merry Christmas party early hours events or VIP tours so you can pop that all in there and that's it well there you have it I hope you find this budget worksheet helpful if you think that something else should be included please comment your request below thank you for taking the time to watch this tutorial and have a magical

know at this video we're going to be going over some tips tricks money-saving tips and tricks for Disney World some of them are money saving a lot of money saving some of them are our favorite just tips right but the truth is any good tip or trick is a money saving tip or trick why cuz you're spending so much money when you go to Disney event anything you could squeeze out of it really gets more value for your money so this is no particular order but maybe it is no because to the first one is gonna be stay on site I think it's really cool to say I'd say you do not save much money by not staying on site that being said we've only stayed on site so though I've stayed off saying when I was younger little I was younger in the last few years we've I've only stayed on site so we can't give full input on thing off site in the recent years but we really loved staying on site I think give any input into be little because I don't think I ever was but good that being said ya know standing on say was it's Dave off site we've all stayed off site now that Disney we're stayed off say it done different hotels it's not the same as being yet Disney Hotel yeah if you're going with a large family and you have to get multiple rooms then doing something like a villa might be cheaper for you off site but the typical family size you know we right now it's two of us in one child if it's two and two or even maybe even up to six people if you're gonna stand like a moderate resort then then then you're you're better off staying on site but always shop around but on site has a lot of a lot of great advantages you have the transportation through the parks every day you have the Magical Express you don't pay for parking your weight in the lines for parking and you're in the Disney bubble that's the biggest plus is that your whole vacation is Disney it's not like you leave Disney and you go to a you don't know hotel then you in the real world and then you go back into the Disney bubble the next day your entire stay is in the Disney bubble and it's a magical bubble if you don't know what it is look it up and go there and figure it out you'll see that staying on site just high water if you're going in the summer or actually pretty much anytime it's very hot in Florida it can just cover weeks ago a couple weeks ago around the you know they'd be New Year season it wasn't any reason Florida so when it's chilly you're still doing a lot of walking exercising but how much stay hydrated that's the tip stay hydrated and a key to staying hydrated this Disney gives you free ice water you know how many times I see people buying bottles of water does he gives you free ice water it's filtered water it's the same order that they use for the fountain sodas it's basically Dasani water and in the tree they have it at every cup they even have it ready a lot of the times they'll have it ready yeah but I'll be counting for you any little kiosks it sells food that it also sells a fountain soda will give that to you you don't ever ever ever have to spend three four dollars whatever it is on a bottled water you never have to just always you can every hour we drink like every hour to where you go and get some ice water drink hydrate you also give them a bottle and fill it up lots of times they'll do that for you too and then also in front of most table service restaurants that have a queue outside there's a water jug there too that he can fill up so and they have comes and stuff usually only things you find about this cooler but they have stuff that you could drink so water free water do not buy the four or five dollar bottles of water at this age just not worth it that work do you remember that guy oh yeah I told about the free one he's like why don't you tell me this five days ago and they spent hundreds of dollars on water we're Jewish we don't pay for war anyway the next tip is pressed pennies press pennies are a cheap souvenir and they are tons of fun this is our press penny book we bought the book at Disney World that you can see it covering up session in the middle area and we have tons of pennies in here and these all have different Disney's designs on them press penny is a real cool way like your first time on a ride you really like the ride you get penny from the ride they cost 51 cents it's 50 cents to do and then the penny that gets pressed and it's cool I yell at her daughter she really loved that she enjoyed search she do looking at all the different machines there's design that she liked and listen so nice on the breaks at Disney World where cost $35 you know 250 dollars for a t-shirt it's nice to be able to get a souvenir for 51 cents you can get quite a few of them and it doesn't really break the bank show that's a good tip another thing is pins pin trading picture he's a lot of fun it L it really love that she loves pin trading Sheila's being able to go over the cast members and say well can I see your pins and they show it to her interesting I want that one and then she gives one that she doesn't like so much for one that she likes more is your some of our pins we have for them in a book so that it's easy for us to look at and go through now some of these pins are you like the first pin so these pins we bought make me went to the contemporary for breakfast we put a contemporary pin an epitaph if not then I love in the end of Jones you bought that Indiana Jones pin at the parks but a whole well almost all the rest of them we've traded got through trades or maybe Caspar but just gave us one because they liked us or whatever it was yeah yella Kant was given that one by a cast member on our first trip while we were on the ferry boat and yeah most of these pins that we got on eBay now I know people are gonna tell you do not buy pins on eBay I disagree I say bye pins on eBay why they're cheap and I don't care if they're fake or if they're real I mean I prefer real pin but if it's a fake pin and I like the design I don't care I'm keeping it for me the memory and yeah alright but if it's something as a character that I like whatever it is and I don't like it I trade it away and I get another one and most someone's you trade for our fakes anyway you know that's true so got a lot of fakes from the customers so the real ones that want you buy the fake ones you trade and I mean we've met other people trading pins and I would say that listen most of my pins are fate the scrappers Minister that and and they would be like yep most of mine are fake dude you're honest about it if you tell them so sure you're trading with other people I'm gonna train with the cast and burn it's just for the fun of it especially your kids will love it but we're trading with other people just say we think we must use our scrapper no these are fake and it usually they don't mind I mean what's never fake – okay then they'll work they'll bake oh well that's what I really like even though it's this one I really like even those fake swords a fake one of one I've been looking for ya so don't worry about that and also when you do buy an eBay they say that all of them are fake that's not true most of them are fake but you get some real answers real ones in there and also you can buy it you can buy it apart so you find a few that you really like let's say you really like Moana you really whatever character you really like you find a couple but you buy it add it to your collection next tip Boober yeah I think this is a great tip there were a few times we got back to the bus because we stayed late at the parks and we got back to the bus hey we're at pops a tree wrap half century of his left stay and it was packed it's the biggest resort with the most beds and it was the busy season and it's one of the most busy resorts and therefore the bus lines are long and after spending all day in the park when you're in let's go home mode you don't want to shake a child or cranky or even if nobody's cranking even if you just push and you're in you're in the mode the thought process is let's go home bad guy shower go to bed and you don't want to sit and wait you know 30 minutes for a 15 minute bus ride you want to be back in five minutes show Eber uber will come to the parks and pick you up we've did it a few times and it was like it was under $10 every time it was like questions are staying on property yeah we're not going very far it was like six eight dollars yeah six yeah it's friends on which which switches are staying at and which Park you're in but they get average let's see it ours around $10 yeah figure about 10 bucks each time so that's a great tip you don't want to wait ten bucks buses are a great asset when you're staying on society especially getting there in the morning the buses aren't great but sometimes the midday or ended day or after the fireworks when everyone's by the bus stops okay or flake for example we had breakfast one day at Chef Mickey's and you can technically take the bus to Magic Kingdom and then walk to the contemporary we're running late you call the uber just a few bucks we got door-to-door you know much easier did you have those new mini man it's 25 bucks more expensive I don't recommend that if you're trying to save money while senator minivans only work was only available at certain resorts and so it's dying to go to Disney look for deals look for deals I say this book when you think you're gonna go if you want to go at a certain time book at that time if that's the only time you're available booking early it's $200 you put down the book but even after you book continue looking for deals let's say you book for a year from now or six months from now in two months a deal might come out and they're not gonna give it to you automatically but if you see the deal you can call them up and change your your reservation and get that deal there's lots of deals 25% off free dining there's all sorts of deals be dining we do it almost every year for the last few years all people say it might mean stopping soon this is the last year there but if you catch it you see it could call them also now there's a deal I think for a family of four until March there's always deals even if you book last year if you're staying there before those dates you go and get that deal call them up they'll add it on it do you think they'll give you back the difference if you've already paid or they'll subtract the difference if you haven't paid yet yeah there's always deals but there might not always be a deal for the time you're reserved but that deal might come up a few months down the road is just always check back mouth shavers is a good resource for that that's right look for yield history also will have a history of all the deals so you can see when deals typically come out and what those deals typically are so you can check that also always just call and they'll tell you if there's any deals or anyway anything new I would call is put you on hold for hours yep and they're busy they put your home where it is try not to call try to be self-sufficient but if you have to you can't cool food in the parks most theme parks do not allow you to bring fruit into the parks Disney does this need lets you bring food and drink like we went to great adventure than a little spring in foods like Disney that you bring in food no I think finally I I'm diabetic so I think eventually they finally like called it's called someone had someone check my ID and all like okay you can bring in this food but it's it's crazy Disney you can bring anything you can bring your silly course me like you bring lunch you can bring snacks you can bring baby formula you could anything you need through the day food any snacks if you don't want to spend the money yeah bring it with you and even if you have Dining Plan we brought snacks with us obviously water water bottles that we refill but yeah right you bring snacks we really we really like breaking the Smuckers Uncrustables the you got usually get the 33% which is also a whole wheat bread there's so many flavors is the regular there's a honey peanut butter shea butter and honey yeah there's the chocolate one there's a lot of the they're great because you can keep them in the freezer in your resort and then just stick them in your bag a few hours later when it's the middle of the day they're perfect perfect a few hours later after your breakfast after your snacks after you get to the park and they're just hungry pop it out and it's fresh yeah we love them they come frozen individually wrapped airtight seal and they buy it it's like five of them for like five bucks you get them on sale get them on sale I'll swing for sales and yeah you just bring them with you or your room Amazon haven't delivered to you resort park they're more expensive like five bucks each so you could buy them in advance and if you're if you're waiting online and you're hungry boom you're waiting for parade you're hungry boom it's one of those things you don't have to now oh let's go run to eat you could just eat something there and yeah yeah it's a great little thing yeah one more tip and then we're gonna we're gonna end this video and we'll do another tip video for you Oh cuz we've so many tips so you're gonna get a bonus tips so let's tip here is stroller a stroller if you have a young child that's I'd say 7 or Andi depending on the child's size haul and stamina you walk it Disney you walk a lot of this new Wi-Fi in Epcot I think you walk you walk just walking around the world showcases gets tiring for adults it gets really tiring for kids especially at the end of the day so it's time to toe to take a break in during the parade they have a stroller they could sit in the know if the necessarily standard there's no place to really sit during the fireworks they could sit in wait instead of standing and waiting it means at the end of the day go back go back to the stroller it makes things a lot easier for the kids we like bringing our stroller but you can also rent you also if you know that if you know that like on Epcot day you'll be doing more you can rent just for that day I figure people that do that you can rent just for the day we like being our own because it saves the money yeah we do that we crunch the numbers and bringing your onus is cheaper I mean we actually bought a new stroller our first time we went to Disney because buying a brand-new stroller was about the same price no it was about the same price for the amount of days we were going to rent your stroller and the airlines that you bring your strollers on it doesn't count as a bag it's free so why not take advantage of that and bring your own stroller instead of renting one so bring your stroller also it doubles as a good place to keep stuff yeah right you can keep if there's something you don't want to necessarily bring on the ride but it's not too valuable that you're afraid I might get stolen it also be like a good tip I mean you have your backpack that you'll have backpack fanny pack I don't know any Scottie best guys more on that another time we'll talk about that later any anything you have that you have your essentials you know you're right your money or camera or whatever essentials you need medications you have any medications keep that on you keep that on you but if you have like a bag that's just your spare bag that has you know your change of clothes or kids change of clothes your your umbrella that's boson Cristobal's that we talked about the Uncrustables II feel water bottle on you it's a spare bag and you can leave the spare mag in the stroller right no valuables in it just in case but you leave out in the stroller and it's that's great sorry it also like we said don't leave valuables of destroyed it is Disney it is a magical place most people there are they're on vacation with their families and they are not there to steal your stuff but it's the real world and it does happen occasionally all the people have ever done have been caught so I mean you think that people would be smart enough not to do it again leave your valuables on you yeah the strollers do get stolen and things inside the strollers do get stolen so leave your valuables on you at all times why some people like renting because sometimes even though we feel like it's cheaper to bring your own if you do choose to rent they do have insurance further for the rented strollers if if something happens to it filler places but that is true that is true okay so that's our first tips video I hope you guys enjoyed it if you have any questions comments please let us know please leave your questions and comments in the comments and subscribe and hey this is Jamie Thomas with click the mouse dot CA and this is my husband hello I'm Brad and we're here to talk to you guys about planning and money saving hacks for your next Disney World vacation the first money-saving hack is actually kind of a surprising one now it's actually staying on property now you're gonna thank Jamie there's no way that staying on property is gonna save me more money even staying off property that's what I was liking but you know it's actually true um you're gonna have to do the math for your own family but the truth is when you're staying off property you have to factor in a lot of different off property kind of cost I mean just from travel alone staying on property can be such a money-saving tips but you can do so there's so many different types of options regarding your actual resort things that are yes very expensive it can also stand a lot of economy type lodging as well so there's um tons of value properties that range from you know well if you get a room discount they can range from you know hundred dollars to under one hundred and fifty and I in that kind of range so that's pretty reasonable a lot of off property hotels will charge resort fee so those can range from anywhere from $10 a night to up to $25 a night so you want to factor that in per night that really jumps up your cost of maybe $100 room right plus you got to consider things like car rental gas for that car how much is parking gonna be when you go to the resorts and actually stay there yeah it can really add up quickly so yeah definitely and also if you're renting a car and you have little kids you have to factor in a car seat rental unless you're bringing your own but if you're renting one from a company like Alamo that can range from $12 a booster seat to a car seat per day so that can quickly add up really to you if you're staying off property some of the different hotels and some of the different resorts will actually offer service shuttles to the different parks and depending on which type of hotel you stay at the quality of those shuttles very nasty Klee whereas with Disney you know you're always getting really good service every single one of the hotels has some form of best transportation from the resort to the different Disney properties in different parks whereas you just don't know what you're getting when you're staying off property and when you add up all those different costs when it comes to travel it really can be a saver to stay on property yeah it's true the best is that Disney run about every 15 minutes so that's pretty consistently a lot of off property places you know we'll do one to two times in the morning and one to two times in the evenings that means if you want to go back for an afternoon nap or even return to the hotel earlier you're gonna have to be paying an uber taxi fee the other thing is you get so many magical extras when you stay at Disney so you get your free magic bands so if you're paying out of pocket for magic bands those are gonna add up from you know anywhere ten to fifteen dollars per person so you get those free when you just stay on property plus you get to pick your fast passes 60 days before rather than 30 days like off property guests so that's a pretty big bonus because if you're really wanting to get on those hard to get rides like flight of passage Seven Dwarfs Mine Train then you're gonna want to be in that 60 day window booking the fast passes because they can book up really quick another one of the things you want to think about when it comes to transportation and cost saving when you say on property at Disney World is the magical Express when it comes to flying into Orlando one of the beautiful things when staying on a Walt Disney World property is you get the magic Express which picks up your bags takes you from the airport right to your resort where you're not having to pay for a tax that you're not having to worry about tip all of that kind of stuff is a real bonus for staying on property yeah it can really add up quick to pay for those transfers from the airport to your hotel and also you know when you check into your Disney and Resort they'll also give you a souvenir booklet with the kind of magical extras in it and those will range from you know ten percent off to twenty percent off and select is neat stores so you know that can help save on food dining and different other little costs staying on property certainly our first tip for a way you might not have originally thought can actually save you money so our next money-saving hack is really going offseason that's um really because Disney often offers the best discounts or promotions during that time like you know January February pretty much when the kids are in school and so the the Disney is getting kind of low clouds so they oftentimes release a promotion to entice people to come out to the park so January February you know that September early on or sorry late August range late August really till beginning of December is a great time offseason go but keeping in mind you want to avoid American Thanksgiving and Christmas those are definitely the high seasons but other times you know you want to go during offseason because it can save a lot you can get a room discount or even free dining if it's offered there's lots of good promotions during that time so and the room costs are overall a lot lower because Disney does bump up the room cost price you know during those high seasons so if you want to save money go during the off-season what's really nice about going through at that time is not only is it cheaper but some of the best type of festivals and extra little special tidbits that happen in the parks happen during those months for instance during October and November you're gonna see Mickey's not-so-scary Halloween party the entire Magic Kingdom is just decorating this awesome fall kind of motif over at Epcot you've got the Food and Wine Festival which is one of the funnest that's if you're any kind of a foodie you've got to go to it yeah best place yeah I'm here yeah and then plus you're not fighting crowds you know you're gonna have lower weight times overall and I'm just lower Park crowds which is a huge bonus and you're gonna be able to get more touring done during your day which is a huge you know kind of money-saving hack because you're getting the best bang for your buck going off season so money-saving hack number three it is use Google flight matrix if you are flexible at all with your dates then I recommend going to Google flight matrix just search it on google and you'll find it and it actually will give you a whole month view of flights and so you can actually figure out what is the best time to stay and fly for you to get the best deal and also I'm talking the best plates for your family which is really good but you can get the lowest airfare there and you can figure out what airline and it gives you a whole mod so you don't need to be searching day by day which can be super tedious that also works back with what we were just talking about regarding going in the offseason oftentimes those flights are the cheapest during that season and so it matches right up with the cheaper prices at Disney tip number four or five depending what we're at one of the best ways of saving money at Disney World is actually going with a group most people don't think of this now going with a family of just yourself so obviously may be your preference but if you have other family members friends that will go with you it's amazing how much you can save when you start doing things in kind of community what one of the options that is really good what do you have a large group can be renting a home that is off property and dividing it up three or four ways you can get places that have multiple rooms have its own pool for several hundred dollars a night that split up between three or four families can become unbelievably cheap on top of that if you stay on property with a group you can divide other things up for instance one of my favorite things that Disney World is the memory maker if you don't know what that is basically all around the parks all around the resort they have professional photographers just waiting around to take pictures of your family it's an unbelievable service it costs you know I think 150 200 bucks somewhere in that range but what's really cool is for everyone that's kind of in your group it works for everyone and so if you have two or three families attached to the same account and going together can be split up two three ways and suddenly you can make unbelievable memories for a really cheap price and it's not just that you have all of these professional photographers all around Disney world at your disposal but even when you go on the rides and there's those cameras that take a picture you wanna down Splash Mountain you get all of those including videos of you doing that stuff so another great way to save money is go as a group figure out what ways you can actually split up the tab because really quickly Disney World can go from this unbelievably expensive thing to something that's very affordable one like you said you don't have to staying on the same room to get that so even if just one person has it on their package then as long as you're all linked and memory maker together then all of you guys can benefit from that if you actually fill up your hotel room you're gonna be getting the best value and bang for your back so if you only have like maybe two people in a standard room you have really um you're not filling up the room to its full capacity so you could say it let's say a family Sweden art of animation if your smaller family maybe that's not the best option for you but if you're bringing grandma and grandpa on to and filling up that family suite then it makes it you know that huge price tag more shareable and more like a value resort when you're splitting the cost yes we did that exact thing about three years ago and by the time we split it two ways it ended up being as cheap if not cheaper than staying at all-star sports or one of the really cheap resorts at Disney World yeah that's true but the prices have gone up at our time animation oddly but you know what still if you're splitting it you know I know but if you're still splitting it you know a few ways but it does make it a really good economical option because you don't need to get to standard rooms you can just all fit in a family suite it's just kind of nice too because it has two bathrooms so that can be really nice number five stay a little longer at Disney World I know this is crazy you want to go to Universal you want to do SeaWorld you want to do all that other stuff in Florida Legoland and we'll talk about that I'm sure in other videos and there's lots of fun stuff to do there but there's so much stuff to do at the Walt Disney World Resort and the longer you stay the longer you you stay as far as tickets go the cheaper I take it gets like a one-day ticket ranges let's say like 105 dollars well if you go up you know to eight or ten days it's getting cheaper per day so you're talking you know it could get down to forty four dollars per s'en or something you know per day so definitely if you're doing like two days at Universal and then two days at Disney people are always shocked by the price tag there because you're paying the premium full ticket prices right but if you stay it Disney longer yeah then you're paying a whole lot less over the hall so it might be smart for your family to kind of think about rather than doing a short trip every year you know two three four days you know every single year maybe space it out do every couple years a longer eight to ten day trip and then you're really getting the best bang for your back so hot tip number six on how to save some money at Disneyworld consider all of those things that you can get off property that you'll spend four or five times the amount on property four for instance a lot of kids love to use glow sticks things of that nature when they go to the parks buy those at Dollar Stores another thing that will just take your cost and your spending out of control is looking for all those little knickknacks and all of those souvenirs that you'll end up purchasing in all of your gift shops after each ride and tell your family forget it we're not buying our stuff here there are all sorts of wonderful outlet shops at Disney that there are does the elegant shops right by Disney World take one day or not even a full day take a couple hours one day head to an outlet shop there's one right by Disney World where they take all of their stuff that really hasn't sold as well as they thought it would or is out of season and they sell it for like 1/4 1/5 one-tenth the cost last time we went I think we spent a hundred bucks and got like five hundred dollars worth of souvenirs golf shirts golf jackets art all sorts of mugs and everything that we'd would have looked for and bought inside the park for five times the cost we got there at just a fraction yeah totally and that's actually called the character warehouses and like Brad said they're official Disney merchandise you can just get it for super cheap all of it so it's definitely worth it to save your money instead of getting that you know premium Mickey errs that are you know twenty five bucks go to the character warehouse and get ones that are two three four five bucks right so you're saving a lot of money then it's definitely worth it um to take an uber down there and just go check it out and number seven it is use a grocery delivery service so you're probably thinking you know grocery delivery that's gonna be a lot of money but if you use a company like garden grow sure they actually deliver for free when you spend fifty dollars or more so if you're um let's say eating your breakfast maybe even packing a little cooled sandwich lunch for the day of the park then you only have really one that you're gonna have to be paying out-of-pocket there so that can save your family a lot of money I'm every Disney Resort has fridges low mini fridges in the room and then select Disney resorts have kitchenettes which have like a little sink toaster microwave and some of them even have full kitchens so if you're cooking your meals in the in the resort room you know you can actually save quite a bit of money rather than paying out of pocket in the parks again so much this is you doing the math as you look at what's best for your family but if you are staying off property there are a lot of resorts that are really close by that do have continental breakfasts so but and a kitchenette so by the time you get the free breakfast in the morning you've got your own food that you can prepare some of which you are allowed to bring into the park depending on the rules yeah it's amazing how much cheaper it can be if you get really smart about your money with your food pack number eight camping you're probably thinking why go camping that's crazy right but truth is Disney actually has some of the one of the most beautiful campgrounds in all of the world really so if you're you know live close and you can even drive or maybe you just like really like camping or you can take your RV down whatever the campgrounds range from like 47 I think dollars a night to you know just under a hundred so that can be a super cheap way to stay on property and you actually get all of the benefits of staying on property you get those free magic and you get to select your Fastpass of 30 days for all of the benefits at very low price so you just want to make sure not to go during brainy or hurricane season because it could get like super wet it can sure I'm down for but you know that is a really good way to save some money just go camping and plus you get a lot of fun things there's roasting marshmallows with chippendale that's people so so cool the campgrounds are super fun so if you guys are outdoorsy and would enjoy that then you should probably check that out so hack number 9 is actually consider going to one of the resorts that is under refurbishment that is because Disney oftentimes will heavily discount a room like you know the the resorts there on your construction right now Coronado Springs Caribbean beach those are under construction so if you don't mind going and kind of overlooking the walls and the construction that's up and going on Disney's really discounting those rooms so that can save you a lot of money you can stay at a moderate resort for a much lower discounted price and plus you can double dip so if a promotion comes out like free dining or a room promotion you can actually apply that on to the or a discount rate so that can be a really good deal and Disney actually um make sure to not do construction from 9:00 a.m. I think till 9:00 p.m. so you're not going to be hearing or no sorry opposite they they don't do the construction they do construction from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. yes yes they're not doing construction at night when you're sleeping so after 90 now after 9 p.m. until 9:00 a.m. there's no construction no noise so you know you're gonna be seeing the ugly walls up though and you know maybe some amenities might be down like dining or certain pools or something you definitely just have to check it out but it is a really good way to save some money yeah I mean you really have to gauge kind of how important are some of those amenities to you like certain certain hotels and certain resorts will lose a restaurant or certain things become more difficult to get to and so you really have to decide okay is this something I'm willing to give up a few of those things I might really like it the resort they're pretty good about keeping pools open because for me that's the most important thing and a resort that and this the comfy bed but but there are some things that are taken away so keep that in mind but it is a really good way to to save some money going along with that I think leads us to our tenth and final mm-hmm now we're gonna do more of these because there's so many different ways you can save half a four and at Walt Disney World but I think the tenth and the one to finish on that goes along with what we just said is booked with the travel agent hmm yeah because you know what it's true we want the best deal for you let them give you suggestions on what hotels are going under refurbishments you know that you can get those deals for or even kind of predict what promotions are coming out there's no guarantee of course but we can kind of help you plan booking ahead or even booking last-minute to you but we can definitely help you get the best deal and when you booked with a travel agent like me with Jamie would click the mouse then um you can't we monitor actually for discounts so if you booked a trip you know we can actually apply the discount to your room or even change your room depending on availability to get you the best deal available so um yeah good and we're free that's a big I think that's the biggest thing is this and if you go with a reputable place like click the mouse yeah it's it's free too and that's a huge huge thing to have someone that's worrying about your vacation for you looking to apply those those different discounts and the truth is so many of those types of things come up at and through Walt Disney World and yeah if you're trying to book your own vacation yourself you're having to stay on top of all that stuff what different discounts are coming up what is new at the parks that I need to know about that can be applied to my vacation to save me some money and if you're working a job and raising kids I mean that's who has time for that but the beauty is if your goal with a hi everyone thanks for joining me again or adventures with Amira today we're going to be talking about how to save money at Walt Disney World because it's so expensive especially if you have a larger family and I just want to give you some tips and tricks that I've found out over the many years that we've been going number one parking parking can be almost $20.00 a day if you're going to be eating at the park anyway what I would recommend is to make a breakfast reservation at one of the hotels that's near the park where you're going to be for instance if you're going to be going to Magic Kingdom for the day you can make a reservation at either Fort Wilderness Grand Floridian the Contemporary Resort or the Polynesian now if you make a breakfast reservation at one of those resorts they're going to scan you in because they'll see your reservation when you go to go through the interest of the hotel and you can park your car there and you can leave your car there all day and you don't have to pay to park we do that normally even though we're pass holders and we don't pay to park anyway we normally always go eat breakfast at one of the resorts leave our car there it's so much less confusion than coming out of the giant parking lots and then we just catch the monorail directly into Magic Kingdom if you're going to be going over to Epcot you could eat at any of the restaurants right there on the boardwalk there's bakeries and whatnot where you could eat at Cape May Cafe which is the buffet over the yacht and Beach Club there's also captain's grill that serves breakfast over at the Yacht Club so if you want to eat at one of those resorts you can leave your car there and then walk into the back gate of EPCOT or take the boat in to Epcot or take the boat into Hollywood studios or walk into Hollywood studios or you can just catch the bus over to Magic Kingdom or wherever you want to be for the day so that's like the number one tip that I have for you number two I'll press pennies as souvenirs they're 51 cent it's two quarters and you bring the penny to press and it's a cute idea for you and your kids and it helps save money we have so much fun collecting pennies you can buy a penny book online before you ever get to the park just buy one off eBay it'll probably be way cheaper than buying one in the park but we do that every time we go to the phone number three five kids meals on quick service plans for your meal if you're like me I don't eat that much during the day anyway especially if it's going to be hot I'm more of you know drinking water and things like that so I'm not going to eat a huge huge meal in the midst of writing lots of theme park rides so what I do is at quick service restaurants you're able to just go up to the counter and buy whatever meals you want normally our family we go get a table and my husband goes in orders for us they don't know how many kids you have with you anyway and they probably could care less so I always order a kid's meal for myself Oh speaking of rain I'm gonna get to that soon back to number three if you order a kid's meal you normally get something like an hamburger a wrap like a chicken wrap hotdogs they have different things then they have a side item like french fries or fruit and then they also have a drink and then they also have a dessert so you actually get a pretty decent amount of food a lot of times we have food left over like a little bag of grapes or a bag of carrots from our kids meals and we bring those with us to have throughout the rest of it number four pack your own snacks in your luggage before you even fly and we used to do that all the time because we were on a tight budget we're military family we've been going to do Sea World since before we had kids we were both college students and going to Disney World on a shoestring budget literally so I learned to do this a long time ago and when we started flying in all the time when we lived in Colorado I would just bring snacks that I knew that we would like that wouldn't melt on the plane granola bars candy for my husband cuz candy Disneyworld is so expensive why not just bring jellybeans or something with you I mean we have some money to buy a few snacks here and there but it's definitely helpful to just bring snacks with you that you know that you can use number five bring your own water into the park that is a big deal because bottled water at Disney I believe is two ninety-five a bottle and now what we do when we go for the day we put a bunch of all of water in the freezer we bring a little cooler with us in the car as we take them into the park they're already frozen you don't have to have them in a bag or anything normally they're pretty much thawing out as you're walking through the park and you always have cold water on you we give one to each of the family members and that helps us and we have water in the car on the way there with water in the car on the way back and then we have that one bottle that we didn't spend money on in the park and I mean that right there save just twelve dollars just by bringing one bottle each into the park because it's going to be hot and you're going to want to stay hydrated because Florida heat and humidity especially if you're not used to it can be a little bit much also if you want to bring water from home and you're not in a car I used to ship water in my luggage literally if I had room knew I was going to be buying merchandise and stuff anyway so I would just pack like a case of water as long as you're not going to be over your weight limit also have the option of a grocery delivery service Orlando has several grocery delivery services and you can look those up online if I find one I'll link it below but you can actually have any kind of food items delivered to your hotel room so your stuff will be stocked when you get there and it's going to be a lot cheaper than buying food inside the park they'll be waiting for you normally when you get there and check-in you can also mail yourself a package I've done that many times especially when we were traveling with babies I would mail my diapers ahead of time I would mail my formula ahead of time and it just made my life so much easier number six buy clothing and costumes ahead of time now we have done that since I've been taking my kids with my little boy we never really dressed him in costumes or anything to go to Disney but with the princess we always had princess gowns and whatnot and we would buy them online from ebay or somewhere like that and have the whole getup I mean a lot of people would think that she's already been to the bippity Boppity boutique because I did her hair glitter in her hair and her nails and everything myself so we look just like she'd been to the bippity Boppity boutique as if it was the mommy boutique so I would just do all that in the hotel room and then take her out for the day looks so cute and it just saves you so much money and as far as clothes for us if you don't have kids I'm only I wait till Disney has their 25% all sale on Disney Store on and I'll buy up clothes and things like that that I know that we're going to want to wear in the park or if you see things at Target or Walmart or whatnot little Disney shirts or like the new finding Dory movies coming out if you see stuff like that ahead of time corn about and then you're not tempted to buy it once you're in the world number seven try pin trading if you buy pens online like on eBay or somewhere like that you can get bulk pins and then trade them with other cast members or people that work in Disney parks once you get there and get those pens as your souvenirs and it's really economical to do that because you can find both pin Lots I mean all over the place once I went to Goodwill and found a huge bag of Disney pins I couldn't even believe it I mean what's the chance of that there was like 30 something pins in a bag and I think I paid $2 for it take those into the park then that'll be an inexpensive way to get some souvenirs and have something fun for the kids to do we started pen trading with our kids when my daughter was probably two and she was just old enough to wear a little lanyard I ordered the lanyard online ahead of time way cheaper than I could get in the parks and then I got some pins from a Disney outlet we had gone to and then I bought some online and took them with us and they just have so much fun number eight plan all of your meals online especially if you're coming in for like a week to ten days my friends from Europe they're always coming in for long amounts of time and it is so much more economical if you kind of plan out what restaurants you want to go to if you're staying on property you can actually book out six months ahead of time if you plan all your meals ahead of time you can really look at the dining plan now if you're staying off property it still helps because you can see what meals are going to be available as a quick surface option we also call counter service but you go to the counter get your food and go sit down at a table quick service meals are of course going to be the ones where you can get a kid's meal for yourself versus an adult's meal if you go to table service meals then you have if you're an adult like my son now is 11 even though he doesn't eat that much he still has to purchase an adult meal or an adult buffet versus the kid's buffet so you need to keep that in mind if you have smaller children it probably will be more economical because the kid's meal plans are so much less expensive I think an adult meal plan right now is about sixty-five dollars a day they're dining service plan that comes with one quick service one table service and one snack versus a kid's plan for the same thing is about twenty-something dollars and the kids don't eat that much food so when my daughter was between two to four we still had to buy a meal plan for her but she wouldn't need that much food she would eat some of our food then we would have all those credits left over at the end so if you know you're going to be doing table service meals you probably will come out ahead on the dining plan there's nothing worse than being in there you're starved to death you're roaming around you grab a $12 turkey leg and this person wants ice cream and it's just crazy if you don't have a plan in place so definitely plan ahead for your meals if you want to save money that way number nine ladies need help you take care of your celebration and what I mean by that is they offer free pens when you go inside the parks so one of the things they do is they give you birthday button pins that you pin to your clothes they also have one for I'm celebrating they have one for first visit they have one for anniversaries honeymoon I believe just married engaged and if you wear these pins sometimes you get a little touch of Disney magic sometimes one of the employees will give you a free popcorn or a free drink when you go to get something it's only happen to me a handful of times but still hey that's free merchandise and also if you're at a table service you let them know when you make your reservation that you're celebrating a birthday or anniversary or what not and then at the end of your meal they normally bring you something free a free dessert we got a beautiful beautiful anniversary dessert when we were at the Grand Floridian and it was just phenomenal it tasted great it was gorgeous to look at and it was completely free a dessert like that out somewhere would probably be at least $15 for every birthday that we've celebrated there they bring cupcakes ice cream and Upton's grill and have these little ice cream sundaes on a tray that comes with ice cream and cookies and candies it's completely free when it's your birthday or something like that so that's a good way to celebrate and save money if you're staying on property you can actually let them know when you're there that this is a celebration for whatever event and they normally will bring a little card to your room I've knew we've never been in the room when they've come but I've been told that sometimes they'll send a character to knock on your door they also do a little character phone call where they'll call your room and it's Mickey Mouse or goofy or something saying how you doing pal and happy birthday and whatnot which is so cute but they'll give you pins when you check in if you tell them what you're celebrating and they'll sometimes send a little card that has all of the different autographs on it and sometimes they'll also give you a picture in your room so you get a birthday card a picture and once or twice we've actually gotten a balloon so you never know what you're going to get but the more people that you let know you're celebrating something the better chances you are getting that little special touch of Disney magic number 10 it's raining right now it always rains in Florida random times it might be a storm that passes over or it might be like the last time we went to Disney for my husband's birthday and it rained the entire day the entire night and the entire next day and we didn't bring our own ponchos why I have no idea please bring rain ponchos if you want to save money because the rain ponchos in Disney are about ten dollars apiece we actually bought rain ponchos and an umbrella I think my umbrella we were down in Downtown Disney that night we were staying on property but we were down there and I mean it was like a torrential downpour we still had to get back to the busses and it was freezing cold like a freak cold snap in Florida and I had to buy an umbrella and the Poncho's and that umbrella was about $40 it was just such a waste of money but you know with desperate times call for desperate measures so don't make the mistake I did bring your Poncho's with you the weather every day if it looks like there could be a little bit of a rainstorm just bring it with you throw it in one of the Disney shopping bags from the store if you don't have one go by a store and say hey can I have a bag and just carry your Poncho's in with you it's better to have them than not to okay I hope this helped you guys I have tons of other tips about how to save money at Disney
