    I save the water produced by my home air conditioning system to aid in flushing. I also have some rain barrels. I use some of that water also to flush. I have also considered using the discharge water from my water softener to also flush.

    The difference is not going to be so much that you will have leftover turds floating around after you flush. Its only going to save a little each time thats why this is a helpful tip. I think low flow saves even more, our house is new we have those

    @HardcoreSnackGamer less water has to be filled in the tank because the jug used up a lot of space and volume

    i've done this for years. cheaper than buying those new efficient toilets; mine now uses about 2 gallons per flush.

    it also helps keep the toilet from overflowing 😛
