During the 1980's I was stationed in Japan I remember seeing these sinks on top of the toilet water tank, excellent idea.

i need this one not only for the economy but mainly due to lack of space in the toilet room. But i only have a button for flushing on the top. will it work?

This is a good idea but you could one up it by just attaching your bathroom sink drain to it.
Also you can use your shower drain water in the same manner. Although it would require a little more items like a pump to transfer the up to the toilet tank. Rainwater is another great option if you have the ability to collect and store it

My car would love that! She would learn to flush the toilet by herself just to make the water run! =D

But doesn't the refill with each flush mean filling plus handwash water, or is the hand wash water included in the usual 3 to 5 galls which fill a tank?
